       Sri Lanka is a Country Close to the Equator of the Asian Continent. An Island in the Indian Ocean. Close to India. It is Separated from India by a Small Coastline of 32 km. Sri Lanka is a Country with a Land Area of 65610 km2.The Maximum Distance from the North to the Sought of the Country is 437 km and 224 km from West to East.

v  21 million People Live in Sri Lanka. Sinhala is the Main Language of the Country and Sinhala is the Official Language of the Country.in Addition, Tamil and English Are Also used for Communication.  The Population is not evenly Distributed Across the Country, With 78% living in Rural Areas, 4% in Estates and 18% in Urban Areas.Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burghers and Malays live in Sri Lanka.

v  Sri Lanka is now a Developing State and a Middle-Income Country.

v  GPD per Capita is the Value of per Capita gross domestic product.

v  The Currency of Sri Lanka is the Ceylon Rupee.

v  The Word RATHNADEEPA means the land of gems.

v In the past, The Arab Called Ceylon “Serendib”, The Indians “RATHNADEEPA” The English “Ceylon”.

v    There are many Unique Sinhala Cultural Heritages in the Country where you can see beautiful Festivals and traditional beliefs throughout the year.

v  Due to its proximity to the Equator, there is a tropical Climate and there is no seasonal change in the country.

v  Therefore, there is a uniform optimum temperature throughout the year.

v  The average temperature in the country is around 27 degrees Celsius. It is good for the body.

v  Monsoon rainfall is a critical factor in Sri Lanka’s Climate.

v  Sri Lanka has created more than 30 beautiful ecosystems due to its climate, temperature and soil nature.

v  Due to the Soil fertility and climate of the country, Sri Lanka is green all year round.

 

Natural Beauty

             


v  At any times of the year in Sri Lanka, the Elephant is the largest land animal and the blue whale is the largest sea creature.

v  As a Country with high biodiversity, we are proud to be one of the 34 warmest places in the world for biodiversity.

v  The UNESCO World Heritage site of the central Highlands and the Sinharaja Forest are some of the most beautiful places in our Country.

v  Many endemic plants and animals can be seen in Sri Lanka during a few days visit.

v  Sri Lanka is also a bird’s sanctuary with about 500 species of birds.
